Nails & String

Here I go with my name again. I got this idea from Pinterest, however I saw it done with different shapes instead of text. Like hearts and stars. Most letters are harder than any shape so this took a little bit of time. I would say I have close to 7 hours put into this project. Not all at once though! haha You have to get the board and prime and paint it. Then pick a font you like and outline it with nails. Then you finally trace the letters with the string and just go crazy. There is not pattern to it. How ever dark you want the word color to be is how long you keep going with the string. Mine is pretty solid, hence why it took multiple hours. But it looks awesome and took up some of my time so I wasn't bored at all. It was a win win :)

Melted Crayon Canvas

This is probably the easiest thing I have done. Melted crayons. This was such a big trend and it was all you saw on Pinterest, Facebook, and other accounts of that sort. So I figured I would try it too! Plus I wanted a little color in my room, so I went for it. It didn't take long at all and wasn't that messy. BUT, if you attempt this be sure to completely cover the floor around you. I thought I had enough newspaper down to cover it but I definitely did not. If you hit the crayons with the blow dryer at a certain angle, it is going to fly everywhere and fly far. Needless to say my basement floor was speckled with the rainbow when I was done. Oops. But the end result turned out pretty cool I think :)

Scrabble Wall Art

Good old fashioned scrabble. It can never do you any wrong. I think this is a clever way to display words that mean a lot to you, or just look cool in general. I happened to choose my name (so original, ha!) but I have seen it done with the words "live, laugh, and love" and words similar to that. I loved the idea of having something like this on my wall so I went for it. This project all together took me a couple of hours. By the time you cut the boards, paint the letters, and attach things to mount them to the wall, you have invested a few hours of your life. I think it was worth it though. Plus I am a big fan of the game, so how could I go wrong? :)

Just a Little Intro

Alright, so everyone always finds this crafty stuff to make on Pinterest or random internet sites, including myself. Lots of people bookmark it or "pin it" in hopes that one day they will in fact do it themselves. Many never do. I however, do most of the projects that I see online and they actually turn out just like the pictures, or even better. That is why I made this blog. I want this to be a place where I can keep tabs on what I actually make and maybe show it off a little too :) They are all very simple and easy to do, well most of them . That's why, whenever I am bored, I just look to my Pinterest boards, find something I feel like doing, and craft away :) I hope you get a little inspiration from viewing some of the things I have made and finally get that motivation to make something that you think looks cool and want to have for yourself.

Good Luck! :)
